A poetic image has been created here on a small surface: about the interplay of origin, experience and encounter. The game of threads is known in almost all cultures. It is played alone or together. The principle is the same everywhere: the taut thread is woven into new patterns and figures with the fingers. For many it is a childhood memory. For the artist, it also expresses the interconnectedness of people, situations and events. Everything has something to do with everything. New connections and networks are constantly being created. Just like between the creative artists in the Schillerquartier.
The artist Jea Yun Lee has her studio just around the corner. The Foto-Motel is a creative place with a studio house and artists' boarding house on Wolfhager Straße. The artist grew up in South Korea and studied art in Seoul and Kassel. This intercultural experience also inspired her to create this painting from 2015.
