The sound installations in Schönfeld Park are sensitively integrated into the landscape and thus emphasise the peculiarity of the respective location. The sound objects stimulate sensual perception and activate concentrated and conscious listening in a playful way.
The sound path in Schönfeld Park is a project that combines nature, art, music and encounters. With its ten sound installations made of stone, wood and metal, it invites walkers to discover the sound diversity of the objects and their special interplay with nature.

Visitors can try out different ways of playing, compose small pieces or enter into a musical dialogue with the surroundings.

The idea for the sound objects in public space was first presented by Prof. Walter Sons in 2002 as part of the Capital of Culture application. In 2006, the first sound steles by sculptor K.-J. Dierkes were inaugurated in the Rose Garden. Since then, the sound path has grown continuously and now consists of ten objects installed between 2006 and 2020.

In the opinion of the non-profit Berlin foundation Bürgermut, the sound path is one of the best civic ideas in Germany.
