The Flying Santa Claus

See Santa Claus flying through the air in his reindeer sleigh - a Christmas dream come true at the Kassel Fairy Tale Christmas Market!

This year, internationally renown high-wire artist Fernando Traber once again presents his spectacular daily show at 5 PM on the Friedrichsplatz near GALERIA in Kassel's city center. Afterwards at 6 PM he performs another breathtaking stunt by descending from the City Point at Königsplatz. Once Santa Claus has landed, he hands out wonderful gifts and surprises to visitors inside City Point.

The Fairy Tale slide is located on the Treppenstraße. Enjoy an exciting ride of over 70 meters!

Castellos Puppet Theater

For young and old alike, Castello’s Puppet Theatre will be performing every Friday from 2 PM to 4 PM in the Fairy Tale Pavilion on Opernplatz from 27 November to 18 December 2026. 

Fairy Tale Forest

A truly magical experence awaits in the Fairy Tale forest on Friedrichsplatz. Fir trees, a forest floor, crackling campfires and the scent of mulled wine create a cosy and enchanting atmosphere in the heart of the Christmas market. 

 

Meet “The Brave little Tailor” on the Christmas market

Vor einem weißen Hintergrund steht ein Mann verkleidet als das Tapfere Schneiderlein. Mit Federhut, Weste und weißem Hemd.

Meet the symbol figure of the Fairy Tale Christmas market “The Brave Lille Tailor”. From 24 November to 23 December 2026 the beloved fairy-tale character will be strolling through the Kassel Christmas market daily from 4 PM to 5:30 PM. 

The Fairy Tale Pyramid

The 22 metres tall Fairy Tale Pyramid with six levels is every year a Christmas market highlight on the Königsplatz.

Discover the magic of fairy tales brought to life at the Christmas market. The oversized books are beautifully detailed, almost life-sized illustrations offer a unique opportunity for the whole family to step into the world of the Brothers Grimm.
