Renewable Energy Production Through the Ages
The “Neue Mühle” on the Fulda River was first mentioned in a historical document in 1443, and in 1890, the historic cornerstone for Kassel’s electricity and water supply was laid at this site. Today, the museum of the same name showcases the past and present of Kassel’s water, electricity, and gas supply. And the fully preserved machinery offers a fascinating glimpse into the development of the water and energy sectors.
