Poet House Brückner-Kühner

The Brückner-Kühner Poets’ House is located in the garden city of Auefeld and, since the mid-1960s, served as the home and creative center for the writer couple Christine Brückner and Otto Heinrich Kühner (both 1921–1996). The couple lived and worked in this modest little house until their deaths. It was here that the Kasseler honorary citizen wrote her “Poenichen” novels, and her husband composed his humorous prose and poetry. The living quarters have remained largely unchanged and, thanks in part to Christine Brückner’s descriptions, come across as an authentic setting for literary life in the second half of the 20th century.
