If death is what ultimately reveals what life truly is, then this museum is also a museum of life.
The permanent exhibition showcases how practices related to the “last things” have evolved. These include burial and mourning rites as well as special customs, but also artistic perspectives on life and death. The museum’s collection focuses on Central Europe from the late Middle Ages to the present.
