Experience an entertaining tour through the over 1000-year history of the Hanseatic city of Korbach. The 2.1 km long route "Between the Walls" takes you along the two medieval city walls, once around the historic old town. The starting point is at the bronze city model located right in front of the Wolfgang-Bonhage-MUSEUM KORBACH.

Discover interesting and quirky facts about the history of Korbach on 10 stations and get to know the many modern aspects of the city. If you need a break along the way, numerous cafes and restaurants in the old town invite you to relax and linger.

For even more stories from Korbach, you can explore our interactive app called "Schatzsuche" (Treasure Hunt). At each station of the "Between the Walls" route, the app provides additional information, fairy tales, and legends from the city's history, as well as an intriguing riddle for you to solve. And if you answer all the questions correctly, a small surprise awaits you at the Tourist Information office.

Here's how it works:

Visit grimmheimat.de/schatzsuche to download the free app "Schatzsuche in der Heimat der Brüder Grimm" (Treasure Hunt in the Home of the Brothers Grimm) for your smartphone or tablet. You can find the "Between the Walls" tour in the app under the "Events" section.

You can also obtain an information flyer with an overview map at the Korbach Tourist Information office (Prof.-Bier-Str. 15).

Directions

From the starting point at the museum, turn left and walk past the historic market square along Dalwigker Straße until you reach the former Dalwigker Gate. From there, the circular route continues through the green belt between the historic city walls, encircling the old town of Korbach. Detours into the old town are signposted.
Important notice:
Due to construction work, the section "Schießhagen" will be closed until the year 2023. A detour from Enser Tor through the historic old town to the open-air theater is signposted.

Due to construction work, the section "Schießhagen" between stations 3 and 4 will be closed until the year 2023. A diversion from Enser Tor through the historic old town to the open-air theater is signposted.
