From the half-timbered idyll of Melsungen to Hann. Münden
Documenta town and Alexander von Humboldt

From the beautiful half-timbered town of Melsungen, the mostly flat route leads through the meadows and fields of Melsunger Land. In Guxhagen, it is worth taking a short detour to the other side of the Fulda to the Nazi memorial Kloster Breitenau. The rest of the cycle route meanders close to the Fulda as far as Kassel.

There are many bridges to admire along the way until you reach the Fulda meadows of the documenta city, where the famous art exhibition takes place every five years. The orangery shines out between the trees like the rising sun.

The largest mountain park in Europe with Kassel's landmark Hercules, numerous museums and parks make a longer stay worthwhile.

The route continues along the Fulda to Hann. Münden, which Alexander von Humboldt described as one of the most beautifully situated towns in the world. In this medieval town of three rivers, the Fulda and Werra "kiss" to continue their journey together as the Weser.
