The university campus has expanded northwards in recent years. Many new buildings have been constructed there. Former buildings of the Henschel company were demolished to make way for them. The K19 cultural centre, run by the AStA, fought for a long time to keep the buildings, in order to create free space for student culture. In cooperation with the Urbane Experimente e.V. association, this large graffiti wall was created at the K19.
The street artists Erick Groß and Marcel Arts have created a detailed city view in warm colours. This visually expands the square. This graffito reflects urban life, diversity and togetherness in the city: as parallel stories in public space. The vividly designed façade contrasts with the architectural design philosophy of the surrounding area.
This artwork is also included in the audio tour "Streetart in Kassel- Nord" on izi.Travel. The tour was made possible by the cdw Foundation.
