The question of the center
For the American conceptual artist Lawrence Weiner, language was the most important medium: his works consist of words in colored stencil writing, which are intended to trigger one's own thoughts when read. The text fragments arranged in a circle on the house wall can be understood both spatially and temporally: "DIE MITTE VON / THE MIDDLE OF". A second inscription with the same wording was inscribed on a glass wall in the Museum Fridericianum during documenta 13.
