In the Schillerviertel, about 2000 m² of wall surfaces have already been designed in recent years under the leadership of the members of the KolorCubes association, with the involvement of the district's residents and artists. This has demonstrably led to an image improvement and upgrading of the district and an identity-forming effect.
The aim of the "Public Art Gallery" project is to establish a freely accessible art gallery in Rothenditmold and thus create points of identification for the residents and improve the district's image.
With this in mind, professional artists used funds from the Socially Integrative City urban development programme to decorate other prominent walls and house and gable walls in the development area. The project was realised by involving local and regional actors and by involving international artists.

More information
The KolorCubes association is active in the field of graffiti and art education and is internationally networked. A major focus of the association's work is on curating, organising, implementing and documenting mural projects, as well as corresponding public relations work. The actors of the KolorCubes association have established and cultivated intensive contacts and relationships with owners of houses and plots of land and have done pioneering work in the district. This concerns above all the potential rededication of façades and walls as "gallery spaces".
