Sainer, who forms ETAM CRU together with the artist BEZT, is world-famous for his large-format murals. He often portrays people - in Kassel, he remained true to the portrait, but did almost entirely without colour, which is rather unusual for him.
Because predominantly colours were used that reflect the surroundings, the mural does not seem forced, but fits harmoniously into the local context at the historic granary. Its size and position make it stand out, but without dominating the surroundings. Sainer only started making sketches on site, the fragments of which resulted in the overall composition.
The woman depicted is a good friend of the artist who did not know in advance that she would be painted in large format in Germany. The mural was commissioned by the limestone quarry company Transkal, which also owns the building.
