The local heritage association of Spangenberg has researched and restored the historical spring path (Q) with great dedication and voluntary work.
The spring path starts at the Liebenbachbrunnen (Liebenbach Fountain) on the market square in Spangenberg and initially follows the Märchenweg (Fairy Tale Path) to the Eichelgärtchen. Along the Märchenweg, the love story of Kuno and Else is told on 11 panels. This story also revolves around the theme of water and the challenges of water supply in the city.
The path continues to various springs and along many beautiful trails until reaching the highest point of the Bromsberg. From there, you have a breathtaking view of the Alheimer and the Knüllköpfchen. The path then descends back towards Spangenberg. Along the way, you can visit an old quarry and admire historical water channels before returning to the market square.
TIP: The local heritage association of Spangenberg (Wanderverein) offers guided hikes for groups with explanations along the spring path. The hike is free, but a donation to the association for the preservation and maintenance of the path is requested. Contact: Peter Leiss - Email: leiss-peter@t-online.de
