The GrimmSteig leads through the particularly scenic part of the Kaufunger Wald and up to the Hohen Meißner. Recognized as a quality trail by the German Hiking Association, it offers unforgettable nature experiences as a circular hiking route. Enjoy the distinct mountainous landscape to the fullest, traversing meadows and fields that constantly change.
You will pass through towns that have retained their typical and original character to this day. Magnificent views compensate for the occasionally steeper ascents.
Stage 1: Söhrewald-Wellerode → Wattenbach → Quentel → Hessisch Lichtenau (Distance: 16.7 km)
Stage 2: Hessisch Lichtenau → Reichenbach → Hasselbach → Hoher Meißner (Distance: 17.8 km)
