Germany's first premium urban hiking trail takes you along a picturesque backdrop of uniquely beautiful historic buildings in the historically significant old town. It leads you along the banks of the River Eder, up to the peaks of the forest-covered Goßberg, offering a combination of urban and natural experiences with exceptional perspectives:

Experience the pure charm of the old town in the heart of the historic half-timbered town, particularly around the 500-year-old 10-towered town hall, where you can also find a special weekly market held by the local farmers every Saturday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.

From high up on the castle hill, you can enjoy a 360° panoramic view of the entire city, which seems to lie at your feet. From there, descend into the new town, where a detour to the courtyard of the former St. Georgenberg Monastery is worth a visit (the monastery museum houses the world's largest exhibition of sculptures by the Frankenberger artist Philipp Soldan). The pedestrian zone, with its unique half-timbered ensemble, invites you for a well-deserved culinary break.

Now it's time to leave the city and head towards the water! Whether at Wasserpark, along the riverside promenade, or on the other side of the River Eder on gentle paths, the view of the city skyline from there is exceptional!

Having had enough of the city, venture into nature through the municipal forest on Goßberg towards the wildlife park. Free-roaming animals and a breathtaking panoramic view over Frankenberg and the Ederbergland await you. Back in the old town, the Hexenturm (Witch Tower) offers a final and new view over the city.
