Founded in 1996, the Kassel Jazz Club has become a top address among live stages. It stands for regional, national and international blues, jazz, funk, soul and pop. Whether jazz greats like Klaus Doldinger, Michael Wollny, Nils Landgren, Rolf Kühn, Ron Carter, Chico Freeman, Anke Helfrich or the comic jazzman Helge Schneider - the list of those who have been guests in the city's most famous cellar is long. Besides the Jazz Spring, the Blues Festival in autumn is another highlight of the annual programme. The long disco nights and the excellent cabaret programme are also popular with the audience.
