A bird creature - half swan, half crane - rests on the façade in Reuterstraße. Jeroo alias Christoph Ganter immortalised himself here back in 2017.
Half swan, half crane

The area on Reuterstraße could be described as a satellite of the Public Art Gallery. A committed owner has created a long-term perspective for the KolorCubes association and the Public Art Gallery on his property. New walls will be created there again and again.

Since 2017, a dazzling bird creature from the hand of street artist Jeroo has adorned the façade. Half swan, half crane - the "swanich" is incubating its offspring. Its plumage shimmers in blue and purple tones. An egg sparkles like a gemstone in a precious facet cut. All this in an urban wasteland, to which the wire mesh refers. It's clear: something wonderful is about to happen here. I wonder if this is a metaphor for the transformation of the Schillerviertel?

Christoph Ganter, alias Jeroo, is a popular street artist from Stuttgart. His beginnings lie in graffiti. Since the 90s, his style has become more abstract. Graphic elements and geometric shapes combine with figurative motifs to create a harmonious overall picture. In addition to his passion for exterior walls, Jeroo also enjoys painting on canvases and published a book on street art in 2013.

The lower part of the wall was subsequently designed by KolorCubes. Matching colour tones and geometric surfaces create a connection to the Swanich.

This artwork is also included in the audio tour "Streetart in Kassel" on izi.Travel. The tour was made possible by the cdw Foundation

The Schwanich is part of the "Public Art Gallery" project by KolorCubes.
