This nonprofit arts and culture association, which focuses on community outreach, supporting emerging artists, and international cultural exchange, was founded in 1987. With its sociocultural programs in theater, music, dance, and exhibitions, the association is firmly established in Kassel’s cultural landscape.
The Bettenhausen Network, founded in 2017, opened up a new area of activity. Since 2016, the association has been offering transcultural music programs with refugees in eastern Kassel. Since 2009, the association has participated in the “Blauer Sonntag” program, part of the North Hesse Days of Industrial Culture.
Networking activities in the neighborhoods of Kassel, throughout the state of Hesse, and at the federal level form an essential part of the association’s work. The association is a member of LAKS Hessen and LKB Hessen. Numerous guest performances by music and theater groups from outside the region contribute to the program’s diversity. The cultural office and event venue are currently located on the Kupferhammer grounds. In addition, the association uses other cultural venues in eastern Kassel, such as the Sandershaus.
