Relationship between the inefficient Earth and its efficient

This year, Annika Boll from Brussels and Frauke Rohenkohl from Kassel are guests at the Kunsttempel. The Kunsttempel’s spaces were made available to the artists as a temporary studio for one month. The results of their joint research and creative process will be presented in an exhibition beginning Thursday, July 30, 2026.

• July 30 at 7 p.m.: Opening with a welcome address by Martin Bach, Director of the Cultural Affairs Office, and an introduction by Svenja Schmidt


• August 2 and 23 at 4 p.m.: Guided tour with Defne Kizilöz and the artists

With “Relationship between the inefficient earth and its efficient workforce,” the two artists reflect on the complex dialectics between industrial systems, natural organisms, and urban landscapes. The results have been incorporated into an interdisciplinary artistic work that makes the hidden networks between nature, industry, and society tangible through multisensory arrangements of images and objects, as well as spatial installations. In doing so, they combine aesthetic visibility with a reflective examination of transformational processes to create an immersive experience that invites you to critically reflect on the hidden cycles of our industrial and natural worlds.
