Since 2008, Galerie Coucou has been an exhibition venue for contemporary art that opens itself up to current social discourses. With a great deal of joy in experimentation, the initiator and gallery owner Milen Krastev and his team make it possible to experience the possibilities of current art production. German and international artists show their work here in both solo and group exhibitions. The curatorial team aims to show strong artistic attitudes in contemporary art and places great emphasis on precise exhibition staging.
The Coucou Gallery cooperates with influential players in the local art scene. These include the Kasseler Kunstverein, the Kunsthochschule Kassel, the Kassel Video and Documentary Film Festival, the Dr Wolfgang Zippel Foundation and the Kulturamt. In 2012, the City of Kassel honoured the work of the curatorial team with the Kulturförderpreis.
