Graffiti and street art were rather male-dominated for a long time. But women are increasingly asserting themselves in the scene. Pau Quintanajornet is considered one of the important female artists. Organic forms are a characteristic of her style. She was born in Chile and grew up in Germany.
With the Chilean Sebastian Carreño Gaibisso, she forms the artist duo Kosmon Project. In 2018, the duo realised their first joint mural in the Public Art Gallery of KolorCubes. A year of conceptual work went into this colour-intensive mural. It is about harmony with nature, spiritual experiences and a successful life. The experience of togetherness and belonging across all cultures is evoked here. The motifs are inspired by the mythology and culture of the Andean region. The mural is a plea for more openness, tolerance and solidarity.
The artwork is part of the project "Public Art Gallery" by KolorCubes.
The mural is also included in the audio tour "Streetart in Kassel" on izi.Travel. The tour was made possible by the cdw Foundation.
