The gable end of the brick façade was not very attractive. The design by Tobias Hahn provided an upgrade in 2017. The Cologne artist opted for an abstract motif and combined analogue and digital design methods. The work "Ascend" is based on several studies on the subject of drapery and organic materials. In the beginning there was a hand drawing, which was enlarged and dissolved into pixels and finally transferred to the size of the wall. In the process, Tobias Hahn adjusted the pixel size to the façade grid. The formerly figurative motif becomes a pure form - open to many different interpretations. In his works, the artist often deals with reduced sign systems and communication.
