A new place for creative industries, small businesses and culture is being built on the site of a former clothing factory: the Schiller-Carrée. The courtyard walls to the north and south have already been designed and are part of the Public Art Gallery. Here you will get to know two important networkers of the Kassel street art scene also as artists.
On the north side, Marcel Arts put a variation of his "Faces and Grimaces" on the wall in 2015. The colourful character heads with strong contour drawing were created using the creative laying technique. It is a recurring stylistic device of the artist. The figures are developed from random geometric shapes and are infinitely expandable. This creates a figurative ornament of unique pieces.
Marcel Arts alias Marcel de Medeiros comes from São Paulo in Brazil and lives in Kassel. He founded the association Urbane Experimente. One of the association's focal points is the curated street art gallery in the Holländischer Platz and Weinberg subways.
