Since winter 2022, there has also been a Public Art Gallery graffiti in the Vorderer Westen, directly on the Goetheanlage - the green heart of the district.
KolorCubes e.V. designed this wall in Goethestraße in Kassel for the owners Vonovia in winter 2022. The long enclosing wall is located in the heart of Vorderer Westens, an eclectic neighbourhood with Gründerzeit buildings, concept stores, long-established shops and cafés. Just a stone's throw from Goethe-Anlage, the neighbourhood's green meeting place, are apartment buildings No. 78-82.
While researching appropriate stylistic devices that work on this wall, temporally as well as socioculturally, KolorCubes came across film posters in the Art Deco style. The Vordere Westen is one of the few districts in Kassel where art on buildings and the prestigious living and housing of the past have remained visible. The work highlights the architecture and history, creating access for viewers and identification value for the residents of the building.
