The village centre is almost completely surrounded by extensive industrial and commercial areas; a small wooded area, the Eichwald, adjoins to the east. To the north of it is a popular residential area that has been in use since the 1920s.
Along the Losse, a green wedge pushes out of the landscape into the centre of the district - fields, meadows, streams, the "Eichwald", sports, leisure and allotment gardens determine the picture here. Along the main traffic artery, Leipziger Straße, there is a development of multi-storey commercial and residential buildings.
