The light-flooded room on the first floor of the south wing has established itself as a place for regional art. Since 2012, the Curators' Association 387 has presented three to four thematic group exhibitions annually with professional artists from Kassel and the region.
The listed south wing is one of the few parts of Kassel's main railway station that have been preserved in their original form and served as a post office hall. Today, the light-flooded room on the first floor with 387 square metres offers space for exhibitions, concerts and other events. In the meantime, the South Wing has established itself not only as a place for regional art, but also as a place for encounters, mediation and discussion. Since 2012, the curators' association 387 has been working together to realise a joint exhibition programme with three to four thematic group exhibitions annually by professional artists from Kassel and the region.

A guiding principle here is to bring together different generations of artists and positions in the exhibitions and to provide a thematic orientation that changes the view of the individual works and creates new contexts. Moderated artist talks and workshops with children, young people and adults are part of the fixed mediation programme of each exhibition. Five organisations work together to plan the exhibitions, select the themes and artists, and take care of the financial planning and the acquisition of funds for the exhibitions.
