The first stage of the Weserbergland-Weg quality hiking trail is usually far away from civilisation.
The overall 225 km long quality hiking trail begins with the first of a total of 13 stages in Hann. Münden. It starts at the Weserstein, where the Werra and Fulda rivers meet. From here, the trail leads up to the Tillyschanze, an observation tower and excursion restaurant. From this point onward, you enter the Reinhardswald Nature Park, through which you will hike the next three stages. The nature-oriented trail, partly on narrow paths, takes you through the beautiful Reinhardswald. Expansive beech forests, ancient grazing oaks, tranquility, and nature await you here. You will mostly wander far from civilization and can fully enjoy the natural surroundings. The goal of the first stage, covering almost 14 km, is Veckerhagen. This district of Reinhardshagen captivates with its beautiful half-timbered architecture, with many houses dating back to the 17th century.
