Surrounded by the Reinhardswald forest, the Holzape stream and the Diemel river, located directly on the Diemel cycle path, the medieval farmstead, which was once a stately home and knight's estate, is a worthwhile destination for an excursion. The oldest of the listed buildings date back to the 12th century.
The LandMuseum and the museum café are located in a former stable building from the 18th century. The café "Mehlschwalbe" invites with delicious freshly prepared and seasonal offers not only for coffee and cake.
In addition, the permanent exhibition "Über Tellerrand" about the production of our food can be visited in the LandMuseum. Temporary art exhibitions and guided tours of the depot (on request) complement the exciting museum offerings.
Varied cultural events take place in the old manor house ruin from June to September as part of the SommerKultur. With the modern roofing of the historic walls, one is now completely independent of the weather here.
In the converted attics of the former stable buildings are now group houses with 60 beds in simple standard for self-catering. In the former orchard there is also a tent meadow for 120 people.
The extensive grounds allow for varied leisure activities in an atmospheric ambience.
Experiences:
Fairytale weddings, registry office branch of the city of Bad Karlshafen and Trendelburg, romantic accommodation for groups, tent meadow, LandMuseum, seasonal café operation, concerts and cultural events, guided tours...
