They literally dive into the city's history, exploring "off-places" - hidden sites: Equipped with helmet and torch, the ViKoNauts guide their audience through the hidden areas underground in Kassel. In gas locks, underground passages and abandoned air-raid shelters, the history of the bomb war, air-raid shelters and bunker construction can be experienced in a sensual way.
The association offers its unusual city tours for individuals, school classes and groups. The ViKoNauts are also involved in children's, youth and adult education. Together with the City Museum, they have created an audio walk "Come with me to my time! Kassel 1933 - 1939" through the city centre of Kassel. Following in the footsteps of the two fictional protagonists Fritz and Elisabeth, a boy of Christian faith and a girl of Jewish faith, the audience travels to Kassel in the 1930s.
