Traditionally, every new season at the Staatstheater is heralded with a big party for the whole family. Go on a discovery tour backstage and take a look at the different workshops. From shoemaking to make-up, there is a lot to see.
At the theatre festival you can take a look behind the scenes and visit places you have never seen before and which are otherwise reserved for the staff. Maybe you'll feel like taking part in a dance training session. And at the costume auction, extravagant outfits can be snatched up at a moderate price.
Music theatre ensemble members offer song programmes, the opera choir comes up with excerpts from operettas, and the theatre invites you to meet ensemble members at a "meet and greet".
For children, there is a varied programme of "Spieglein, Spieglein" and "Leselust" by JUST+, framed by face painting and many great activities, as well as small concerts in the orchestra rehearsal hall.
And last but not least, there will be four free sneak-ins with exclusive insights into the opening productions "Carmen" in the new ANTIPOLIS stage at the Opera House, "The Midwife" at the Schauspielhaus and "War and Peace" at the TiF - Theater im Fridericianum. Admission to the theatre festival is of course free, and free tickets for the sneak-ins are available directly from the theatre box office on 23 September;
