Raum für urbane Experimente (Space for Urban Experiments) has set itself the goal of highlighting the unused potential of public spaces and making them usable in a variety of creative ways. The focus is on the subways at Weinberg and Holländischer Platz, which have established themselves as venues for urban culture and offer spaces for graffiti and street art, among other things.

In addition to design, numerous events such as concerts, workshops, lectures and, in particular, GaleRuE contribute to the transformation and revitalisation of these spaces. The latter is a gallery for street art in the subway at Holländischer Platz, where live concerts take place every Saturday evening during the summer months - RuE especially gives emerging local artists of different genres the opportunity to present themselves.

Besides the two permanent project locations, the association constantly strives to expand its radius of action and transform other Kassel locations into laboratories for urban experiments. In 2016, the Space for Urban Experiments received the Cultural Promotion Award from the City of Kassel.
