The Warte für Kunst, at the foot of the vineyard in Kassel's Südstadt, is an experimental field and exhibition venue for young national and international artists and curators.
All facets of contemporary forms of expression are on display - from photography, video, painting and sculpture to performance. Accompanying the exhibitions are theme-related and unusual events that question and loosen up the existing concept of art. The association Warte für Kunst (Wait for Art) is a founding member of the network "Galerien der Südstadt" (South City Galleries), which was awarded the cultural promotion prize of the city of Kassel. Once a year, the network, which now calls itself Südgalerien, organises a gallery festival in Südstadt lasting several days.
