The special exhibition "Rembrandt 1632. The Making of a Brand." at Wilhelmshöhe Palace is the first to take a concentrated look at the year in which Rembrandt left his hometown of Leiden and moved to Amsterdam. This move marked the beginning of his supra-regional success and ushered in a new phase of his career. In Amsterdam, Rembrandt worked in the workshop of the art dealer Hendrick van Uylenburgh, where he created numerous individual and group portraits and opened up new circles of buyers. At the same time, he began to sharpen his artistic profile. In this year, he also began to sign his first name for the first time. The "Rembrandt" brand was born.
