The buildings - church, kitchen, smithy, wood workshop, potter's workshop, servant's house and the large reeve's house - in the medieval model village of Steinrode are arranged around the village square. From the watchtower you can see everything. Here, children and young people can playfully be transported back to the everyday life of yesteryear.
The model village is not a museum, but a special place of learning where pupils can understand history, experience sustainability and learn about natural cycles, where they directly experience that raw materials are not infinite, and where they try out how many different ways renewable raw materials can be used. Located in the middle of the forest, there are plenty of opportunities for experiences with and in nature.

You can reach the medieval village of Steinrode via the secondary route "Haarthstraße" from Hann. Münden to Laubach. The village is signposted from the Kohlenstraße junction.
