Stars with a personal touch, Grimm's country parties, classical music without borders, powerful voices from Bach to pop, not childish but for children. The Kultursommer Nordhessen is always colourful and top-class.
On Whit Sunday, 5 June 2022, the Kultursommer Nordhessen will kick off with "Aufgespielt", the traditional cabaret festival for the whole family in front of the grandiose rococo backdrop of Wilhelmsthal Castle. Until 17 August, the festival offers 75 events at more than 50 locations in the GrimmHeimat NordHessen.

In idyllic villages, charming half-timbered towns or romantic beech forests, there will be music, literature and entertainment: Invited are Axel Prahl and his Inselorchester, Gesine Cukrowski, the Landesjugendjazzorchester Hessen, the Händelfestspielorchester Halle, the Juilliard String Quartet, the Busch Trio, Martin Brambach, the DDC Breakdance Company and many others.

Focal points include. the series "Fritzlar in front of the Cathedral", "Folk in the Park" the figure theatre festival "Blickfang", the "Wald- und die Klappstuhlkonzerte", the "KinderKultursommer" and the "SommerSinfonie" with international young orchestras.

The Ballhaus am Schloss Wilhelmshöhe will be the venue for a new chamber music series: "Into the Open", brings together ensembles from leading music academies and training institutes. New for the season is the series "Lieblingslieder", a request concert for all listeners and fellow singers. Whether popular hits, evergreens, folk songs - every guest is invited to gather a colourful bouquet of favourite songs and sing them together. And so it can happen that an old folk song is immediately followed by a rock or pop title - the audience always decides by voting which song will be sung next, including campfire and bottled beer.
