Inside the museum, you’ll find numerous exhibits and display panels chronicling the over 900-year history of shipping on the Fulda River. Amusing and curious facts accompany you on your journey through the lovingly designed museum. Alongside models of the “Fuldaböcke” and “Weserböcke” from the Middle Ages, you’ll find a faithful replica of a “Lattenschiff.” It was on a ship like this that the mother of the Brothers Grimm moved from Hersfeld to Kassel in 1805 to be with her children—taking her entire household with her.
