Highlight and grandiose finale

The pond, which appears natural, was already artificially created in the middle of the 18th century. Here the water arts find their grandiose conclusion in the fountain rising 52 metres high.

The water for the fountain comes from the fountain reservoir located above the Pluto Grotto. This reservoir has already absorbed the water from the first watercourse, below the Neptune Basin, as well as the water that cascaded down the Steinhöfer Waterfall.

In order to make the fountain rise in the form of a geyser, the fountain head must be closed and the pipe from the fountain reservoir 80 metres higher up must be filled with water. When the pipe is completely filled, a mechanism releases a lid and the fountain rises fulminantly from the rock island into the air.
