Open-air cinema is not only film projection in the open air, but also an experience, leisure time fun, meeting place, place of relaxation. Every year during the summer months, you can enjoy outdoor filming in Kassel for many weeks. This year it takes place from 23 June to 3 September.

In Kassel, the open-air cinema has become a successful institution in the city's summer programme in recent years. This year's open-air cinema will take place from 23 June to 3 September and will present its visitors with a diverse programme featuring the arthouse highlights of the past cinema season, current previews and classics and newly digitally remastered classics.

In terms of content, however, corresponding to documenta fifteen, the programme will also place a special focus on films that deal with the topics of sustainability and environmental protection from different perspectives. Portraits of activists from the international climate youth movement are also planned. The open-air cinema in the documenta summer thus aims to entertain and be fun, informative and thought-provoking at the same time.
