A giant octopus has been created as a mural in Schillerstraße. KolorCubes painted this oversized work on the wall back in 2020.
In spring 2020, KolorCubes e.V. realised this octopus as a private commission. The motif was inspired by one of the most poisonous and therefore most dangerous marine animals in the world: the blue-ringed octopus.
Different from the wall, the animal, which is found off the coasts of Australia, the Phillippines, Indonesia and New Guinea, is only around five centimetres in size. On the other hand, blue-ringed octopuses carry a neurotoxin that is deadly to humans. The idea for the motif stems from the enthusiasm for maritime themes of the owner of the Schillerstraße 65 site, to which the wall belongs.
