The former river bath first became a public purification bath and later a medical bath. Today, you can experience the modern bathing culture in Kassel in the small museum. The adjoining café is a popular meeting place on the Fulda.
The cultural monument Kurbad Jungborn is a relic from the early days of modern bathing culture in Kassel and the last existing remnant of one of the many river baths on the Fulda. It was renovated and restored by the Förderverein Kulturdenkmal Kurbad Jungborn e. V.

In 2011, a small bathing museum was set up there. The museum is divided into four sections and shows the history and development of the different bathing facilities in Kassel such as river baths, municipal open-air baths and indoor pools as well as public and private purification baths. The focus of the presentation is on the depiction of the river and private purification baths. In addition, the history of the building from the former river baths to its rediscovery and renovation is documented.

Versatile exhibitions are dedicated to individual cultural-historical aspects related to bathing culture or invite artists to present their views.
