Since 2007, there has been a children's and youth farm in the Wesertor district of Kassel on part of the former bleaching meadows on the banks of the Fulda.

The main focus of the work of the non-profit Kinder- und Jugendbauernhof Kassel e.V. is school cooperation in the morning as well as open child and youth work in the afternoon and during school holidays. The association takes on important functions in district-related children's and youth work. Attendance at the open programme is free of charge for the children.
