Can people with walking disabilities take part in the water games?

As there is a considerable difference in height and more than 500 stairs to climb downhill, this is not entirely recommended.

There is a service for mobility-impaired guests:

The Bergpark is situated on a slope and can only be accessed on foot.
This also applies to the water features. Due to the steep slope, access to the Bergpark is limited for people with restricted mobility. An assistant is therefore sometimes necessary.

Services offered by the Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel

Passengers with limited mobility can change to the Bergparkshuttle at the Wilhelmshöhe car park
and travel to the castle or the lower water play stations and Löwenburg. The Bergparkshuttle runs through the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe World Heritage Site and connects the Wilhelmshöhe Visitor Centre with the castle, the lower water play stations and the Löwenburg.

Wheelchair / pram / canes for walking

Due to the narrowness of the cascade and the usually large crowds of visitors, this is not possible.

How do the waterworks work?

For 300 years, the water has been led to the individual stations through a clever system of pipes, reservoirs, "underground water rooms" and water slides. The water images are created without the use of pumps alone, using physical laws.

Are the  water games in all places at the same time?

No, the water images are shown at each station for 10 minutes, after which there is enough time to walk to the next station.

Is the water pumped back again?

No, the water runs over the Lac (lake next to the castle) and the Drusel stream into the Fulda.

Do the water games also take place when there is a drought?

The water is well managed. In the future, there could be a shortage of water.

Are there any gastronomic facilities in the Bergpark?

Herkulesterrassen, Cascade Restaurant, Old Guardhouse, Café Jerome

Where are there WCs in the park?

In the visitor centre and the restaurants.

Are dogs allowed in the park?

Yes, but dogs must be kept on a leash in the Bergpark. Please observe this rule.   For the sake of the animals, please refrain from bringing them to the water games.

Can I cycle in the Bergpark?

No
