Artistic films, productions outside the mainstream and sophisticated films for a broad audience: the three arthouse cinemas at Ständeplatz and KulturBahnhof offer cinema culture for enthusiastic cineast.

 In the 1950s, the Gloria cinema was one of the hottest cinemas in the Republic. Many premieres took place here, as Kassel was the film set for well-known flicks of the still young Federal Republic. Whether Heinz Rühmann, "die Knef", the Kessler twins or Heinz Erhardt - they were all guests in Kassel and attended premieres in the famous Gloria, Kaskade and Capitol movie theatres.
